The Perils of Texting and Driving

Let me be blunt. People who use their cell phones while driving are idiots. And I’m being nice by using the word “idiot”. When you are in a car, your sole priority should be the proper operation of that vehicle. Your attention should be 100% on the road. You should not in any way be talking, texting, or surfing on your smartphone while behind the wheel of a 3,000 pound killing machine.

Not only is it unsafe and irresponsible, but it’s the law. Yet time and time again, I see people on the road yammering away on their cell or rolling forward with their eyes pointed down at their devices, oblivious to the world around them. The problem has become epidemic and no one is doing anything about it.

Just recently, a defiant teen in Little Falls, Minnesota blew through a red light and killed another driver along with his 10-year-old daughter. According to the report, 17-year-old Carlee R. Bollig refused to listen to her passengers who continually urged her to put down her phone and pay attention to the road. Her response to her friends? “F—ck off.”

According to the Star Tribune, Carlee said that she “didn’t care if she crashed” just moments before she inevitably did. The unlicensed teen continued with her texting—ignoring the screams of her passengers—and plowed into the minivan carrying the 54-year-old Charles Maurer and his young daughter.

According to the report, one of Carlee’s surviving passengers, told investigators that they had asked Bollig to stop texting and updating Facebook while driving on at least “eight or nine occasions,” but she just didn’t listen.

Cell phone abusers lack sense. The world revolves around them. Teens especially. They are not mature enough to make intelligent decisions all the time. If you are worried that your teen may be using their smartphone while driving, but can’t be sure, there’s help. By downloading a good mobile spy app on their phone, you can discretely monitor their usage twenty-four hours a day no matter where you or they are.

Look, the internet is full of spy con cell phone free download and cell phone spy software free download offers, but it’s difficult to find the right one for you. Many make promises that they never live up to and others come with hidden fees that weren’t advertised. A good mobile spy app is inexpensive, simple to install and easy to use. One such app that does everything I need is Surepoint Spy. I installed Surepoint Spy on my teenage daughter’s phone firstly, so that I can keep track of where she goes and see who she is with. It sounds creepy and sneaky, but she is my angel and I worry. I try to give her her distance and respect her choices, but kids don’t always tell the truth, especially when they know they’re doing something wrong. If you’re looking to learn how to spy on a cell phone remotely, Surepoint is the product for you.

It’s my job to make sure she herself is being safe and making the right choices and decisions. Nobody’s perfect. And like everyone, she too will tell the occasional untruth. Surepoint Spy lets me sleep soundly knowing that she’s acting responsibly when she’s out and about and not texting and driving like the other idiots.
